On September 25th, Dr. Lisa Kirk will open the Technical Session at the Selenium Summit 2018 in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, with an invited presentation on the Biogeochemistry of Selenium and Nitrate in Mine Waste Management and Treatment of Mine Affected Water in Elk Valley, British Columbia.  This EPRI-sponsored summit is a forum for international collaboration in industrial water treatment applications.  The event will bring together expert scientists and engineers to discuss current challenges to the effective removal of selenium and nitrogen compounds from industrial water using biological and physical-chemical processes.  The assembled group of researchers, technology providers, and end users will together brainstorm biological process optimization and develop research targets to improve current and future water treatment systems.  The event is being held concurrently with European Water Tech Week.  Enviromin thanks the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Wageningen University & Research (WUR), and our industrial partners, Teck Coal and NWP Coal Canada, for making this opportunity possible.
